Tom Evans
In 2025, Tom Evans claimed the UTMB title with an almost 30-minute lead over the runner-up, achieving one of the most remarkable victories of his career and becoming the first British male champion in UTMB history.
Tom's trail running journey began with a bet among friends. Before 2017, the longest distance he had ever run was a 5km run in the park organized by the local community. Accepting the challenge to tackle the Marathon Des Sables, he surprisingly finished third on his first attempt. This unexpected success revealed a potential he hadn't even realized, marking the rise of a new star in the world of trail running.
Eight years of military service provided him with an unparalleled training foundation, the ability to maintain self-control under extreme pressure, and exceptional composure and strategic vision. These qualities allowed him to evolve quickly from a naturally gifted enthusiast into an unstoppable professional champion. From UTMB to the New Zealand Ultra Marathon World Tour, and even pursuing Olympic marathon qualification, he excels across trail, ultra-marathon, and road races - an all-round runner who defies definition.
After withdrawing from the race due to injury in 2023, Tom faced another setback later that year during training. Yet these challenges did not break him. By openly sharing his vulnerabilities, he quickly demonstrated remarkable resilience - approaching each obstacle like a trail race, relying on inner strength to tackle the unpredictable. From a chance encounter with the sport to staying true to himself, Tom's journey reached a new height in 2025. Through steady pacing and formidable downhill skills, he wrote his own legend.
