Jiasheng Shen
Jiasheng Shen is one of the outstanding figures in Chinese trail running, widely recognized for his relentless training ethic and impressive race performances. He stepped into the world of trail running in 2016. Growing up in the mountains of Yunnan gave him a natural adaptability to rugged, undulating terrain. From then on, he embraced an intense "race-as-training" approach: in 2017 alone, he participated in 35 races, claiming 19 victories. This high-density racing not only honed his skills and mental toughness but also earned him the title of a rising star in trail running.
In 2018, at the Gaoligong Ultra Trail in Tengchong, Yunnan, Shen defeated the renowned Japanese runner Ruy Ueda in the 125km category, marking his gradual emergence on the international stage. He has repeatedly challenged the world's top trail event, the UTMB. From finishing 5th in the CCC (100km) in 2019, to 4th in 2022 while setting a new course record for Chinese runners, and then claiming the CCC runner-up in 2023, Shen matched the best historical result for a Chinese athlete in this category.
Every race and challenge is a new experience for Shen - new distances, formats, terrains, and competitors. With relentless effort and an indomitable spirit, he consistently rises to the occasion, striving to perform at his best each time. With every step, he continues to help put Chinese trail running on the world stage.
